The Boston Celtics announced the signing of undrafted rookie Brandon Wallace today. Wallace has been the most impressing player thus far for the C’s and with his defensive play he could get some playing time with the actual ball club.

C’s fall to Spurs

It was an early start time for the Boston Celtics and they looked like they haven’t had much rest the night before. The C’s lost 61-53, but did provide solid defense only letting the Spurs shoot under 40 % from the floor.

Although Brandon Wallace only had 4 points, he was VERY active.

In the Celtics first summer league game against the Portland Trailblazers, Leon Powe stunned many people scoring 18 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. Not bad at all.

On Friday (July 6th) the C’s will start the always anticipated summer league. It just so happens that their first stop will be against the new look Portland Trailblazers, and Greg Oden. Don’t ask me who’ll cover the big man, this could be a very interesting summer game depending on who from the C’s participate.

Pruitt and Davis join

After trading to get all-star SG Ray Allen the Celtics concluded their draft night by selecting PG / SG Gabe Pruitt with the 32nd pick. Pruitt is 6-4 17-, kind of like what Delonte was when he came out in 2004. Pruitt could fill the role Delonte left on this team, they both play a lot alike.

Then the C’s grabbed LSU BIG man Glen Davis with the pick (35) that they obtained from the earlier trade with Seattle. Davis is a rock, at 286 and 6-8 this guy is a stud. He could come in right away and give some scoring off the bench, if he doesn’t eat himself out of this league and plays better defense he could be a very solid player.

Ray Allen joins the Boston Celtics after being traded for the 5th pick (Jeff Green), Wally Szczerbiak, and Delonte West. In return the C’s also got the rights to Glen “big baby” Davis.

Can the C’s make it 4?

The Celtics will take on the Bobcats on Wednesday, and will look for a four game victory. So far the C’s have beat the Pacers, Trailblazers, and Knicks to get back to 4-6 this season.
